State laws require that all drivers must have proof of financial responsibility.

This means liability insurance that covers damage to others caused by an accident that is your fault. It does not cover damage to your vehicle, but that coverage is available at extra cost. Click on Full Coverage for details.

When you buy a policy you will receive a Liability Insurance Card which satisfies the requirement for proof of financial responsibility. If you buy online, your Insurance Card will be displayed in a PDF file on your computer, so that you can print it immediately. You can also choose to receive your Insurance Card by e-mail, fax, or regular USPS mail.

Unless you have paid in full for six months of coverage, you will receive a bill each month for the amount of your monthly payment.

You can pay by doing any of the following:

• Pay online at PayMyPolicy.com with check, MasterCard, or Visa Card.
• Call 1-888-886-3376 and pay by check, MasterCard, or Visa Card.
• Mail your check or money order in the return envelope that is included with your bill.
• Go to an agent's office and pay by cash, check, money order, MasterCard, or Visa Card.
• If your payment is not received before the expiration date shown on the bill, your coverage will not be in effect after the "Last Day of Insurance" that is shown on your bill. There is no late fee to resume coverage if you pay within 21 days after the last day of insurance.

Liability insurance does not cover damage to your vehicle. Insurance for damage to your vehicle is not required by law.

However, you can add that coverage to any liability policy by doing the following:

• Buy a liability policy online and then call 888-365-4201 at any time that the policy is in effect and request that full coverage be added to your policy.
• Call 888-365-4201 to start a full coverage policy which includes both liability coverage and coverage for damage to your vehicle.

You can always make payments on any policy online at PayMyPolicy.com, regardless of when or how you bought the policy. These payments can be made by check (the amount paid will be drafted from your bank account), MasterCard, or Visa Card.

To complete your purchase, you will need the following:

• The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) of the vehicle(s) that you want to insure. This is a combination of 17 letters and numbers that you can find on an insurance card, a license plate receipt, or the title to the car. You can also read the VIN from the car - just look through the windshield from the outside on the driver's side of the car. The VIN should be an inch or two behind the bottom of the windshield.
• The Driver's License Number of every person who will be driving the car. You can include up to four drivers, and there will be coverage for only those that are listed.
• A Visa or MasterCard, or your check from which you can read the bank and account numbers at the bottom of the check.

If you have all of these before you start, you should be able to complete the process in five minutes or less. When you finish, your insurance card and other paperwork will be displayed on your screen in a PDF file. You can then print them immediately. You can also choose to have them sent to you by e-mail, fax, or regular USPS mail.
